Hanging out at Home
We had so much fun with Maverick's family in town. They got to do so much sightseeing. The highlight to it all was being able to hangout at home, visiting, watching movies, and playing games.
Chocolate World
During the first week of their stay, Maverick's family toured all over DC. The second week we decided to take a road trip to Hershey and Gettysburg. We had a lot of fun at Chocolate World. We road the free ride that explained how chocolate was made, ate chocolate, and took some silly pictures of some of us wearing chocolate factory hats.
On the Road
The road trip wasn't too bad and the boys did great. Jester slept the whole way. At one point I turned around to see what Iceman was doing and apparently he had a runny nose. :)
Goose was so worn out. It took him awile to give into his desire to sleep, but he eventually crashed. Don't look too close at his dirty face. :)
Iceman decided to take his runny nose stopping to the next level. He is so silly!
Gettysburg, PA
We had such a great time is Gettysburg. It is such a humbling place when you think about all that happened there. There is such a great amount of history in such a small town. We ate in a historic building that housed snipers from the war in its attic. There were bullet holes in the side of the building where people tried to shoot the snipers. The lion that Goose is sitting on, was in front of the restaurant. He climbed up and roared at the lion. He thought it was great. He had to literally be carried away from the lion because he didn't want to leave it.
While in Gettysburg we took a car tour of the battlefield. This entails a three hour car ride with a CD that is playing and telling the story of the battle as you drive around. It is very interesting and detailed. The kids did surprisingly well. At one point we got out of the car to look around and take pictures. Everything was so beautiful. This sight was called Little Round Top. The castle is a monument that was built after the war. We posed in front of a handful of monuments, a cannon, and some scenery of the battle field. Gettysburg was a great trip!

Masonic Lodge
On Wednesday, we went to the George Wasington Masonic Lodge, a memorial built to honor George Wasington. We went in to enjoy a tour, unfortunately we had a very impatient tour guide, so Charlie took the boys outside to wait while everyone took the tour. We did get a great picture inside of Maverick, Iceman, and Goose. I also got a very funny picture of the boys, waiting outside for everyone.
They really weren't this bored. :)

We had a great time with Maverick's family! We were sad to see them go and hope thay had as much fun as we did!
